Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong experience in

  SPM design

  , of two/three years custom automation machinery, jigs/fixtures, conveyors, pick-and-place units, robotic integration, etc.
• Proficiency in

  CAD software

  (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, AutoCAD).
• Knowledge of

  pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, actuators, and mechanisms

  .
• Understanding of

  manufacturing processes

  (machining, sheet metal, welding, assembly).
• Ability to perform

  DFMEA, DFM, DFA, and GD&T

  .
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and creativity skills.
  
• Good communication and teamwork capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop

  conceptual, pre-design, and detailed designs

  for SPMs and automated equipment.
• Create

  3D models and 2D drawings

  using CAD tools (SolidWorks/Creo/Inventor/AutoCAD).
• Perform

  engineering calculations

  , tolerance analysis, and material selection.
• Prepare

  BOMs (Bill of Materials), GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and assembly drawings

  .
• Work closely with the electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure complete machine integration.
  
• Conduct

  design reviews

  , feasibility studies, and risk assessments.
• Support

  machine assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning

  at the shopfloor and customer site.
• Provide

  design improvements

  , cost optimization solutions, and innovations for performance enhancement.
• Ensure all designs comply with

  industry standards and safety norms

  .
• Coordinate with suppliers for component selection and technical discussions.
