Key Responsibilities: Database Installation, Configuration & Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle (19c) and MS SQL Server databases. Apply patches, upgrades, and migrations for database software. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations using RMAN, Data Guard, and AlwaysOn Availability Groups. Performance Tuning & Optimization: Monitor database performance and proactively tune SQL queries, indexes, and system parameters. Conduct capacity planning and maintain performance baselines using tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Profiler. Security & Compliance (RBI Audit Readiness): Implement robust database security policies including data encryption, auditing, user access controls, and compliance measures as per RBI guidelines. Prepare documentation and evidence for RBI audits, ensuring data integrity and regulatory compliance. Support internal and external auditors by providing timely data and responses. Backup, Recovery & DR: Design and implement automated backup strategies using RMAN, SQL Server Agent, and third-party tools. Manage database restores, point-in-time recoveries, and DR drills. Ensure data consistency and recovery capabilities. Database Automation & Reporting: Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell and Shell Scripting. Create and manage scheduled reports, dashboards, and visualizations for database health and metrics using SSRS or custom tools. Collaboration & Support: Work closely with developers and application teams for performance optimization, deployment support, and schema design. Provide 24x7 on-call support for critical systems and participate in an on-call rotation. Maintain updated documentation for configurations, procedures, and incident handling.
