Job Description

Role & responsibilities

You will collaborate closely with the Research & Development headquarters of Safran Electronics & Defense in France. Initially, you will be part of a dedicated task force focused on Low Level Testing.

As a member of the team, you will be responsible for activities within your designated scope of Low Level Testing. You will report directly to the Technical Manager and functionally to the Tech Lead.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality outcomes for assigned tasks
  • Meeting deadlines as defined by the Tech Lead
  • Developing software within your scope in coordination with stakeholders from RTOS, Hardware, and Product Engineering
  • Proactively identifying and escalating risks related to deliverables and timelines
  • Evaluating your progress and presenting status updates and potential solutions to the Tech Lead when needed

Preferred candidate profile

  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally, including to France
  • Proficient in English, essential for effective communication in a global environment
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics or Computer Science Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the aerospace industry, with at least 3 years in Model-Based Design (MBD) engineering roles
  • Proven experience collaborating in technical teams of 10 or more members
  • Skilled in developing embedded software within high-level environments aligned with DO-178C standards
  • Familiarity with software development processes governed by strict aeronautical or comparable industry standards.
  • Proven expertise in High-Level Testing and Requirements management using tools such as RTRT or IBM Rational Test RealTime Studio
  • Strong background in high-level software development and architecture, including Model-Based Design (MBD), Simulink code generation, and adherence to coding standards
  • Hands-on ability to develop bare-metal applications, including test applications interfacing with hardware drivers
  • Advanced proficiency in the C programming language
  • Demonstrated skill working with SCADE and Simulink environments

Good to Have:

  • Familiarity with DO-178C aerospace software standards
  • Understanding of complex software functionalities such as control laws, Kalman filtering, and state machines
  • Experience in Configuration and Change Management processes
