CT and X-Ray Technologist (Radiologic Technologist) Department: Radiology / Imaging Reports To: Lead Radiologist / Center Manager Location: Mayank Sonography & Diagnostic Center Job Summary Mayank Sonography & Diagnostic Center is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate CT and X-Ray Technologist to perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures. The technologist will be responsible for operating both Computed Tomography (CT) and conventional X-ray equipment, ensuring exceptional patient care, adhering to strict safety protocols, and assisting the Radiologist in obtaining clear, accurate images for diagnosis. Key Responsibilities 1. Diagnostic Imaging Procedures: Perform and acquire high-quality diagnostic radiographic (X-ray) and Computed Tomography (CT) images as requested by physicians' orders. Operate and maintain all imaging equipment, including CT scanners and X-ray units, ensuring optimal function and image quality. Select and adjust technical factors (kVp, mAs, slice thickness, etc.) for each examination to obtain required diagnostic information while minimizing radiation exposure. Administer contrast media, when required for CT procedures, following established protocols and monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Perform daily quality checks and warm-up procedures on equipment as necessary. 2. Patient Care and Safety: Provide compassionate, clear, and concise explanations of procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation. Correctly position patients for all X-ray and CT examinations, which may involve lifting, moving, and comforting patients with limited mobility or in distress. Strictly adhere to all radiation safety guidelines and protocols (ALARA principle) for patients, staff, and self, including the proper use of shielding devices. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition throughout the imaging process, promptly reporting any changes or concerns to the Radiologist or supervising physician. 3. Documentation and Records: Accurately record, process, and maintain detailed patient data, imaging logs, and records of procedures performed in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Review and evaluate all generated images for technical quality and completeness, ensuring all required views and parameters are met before submitting them to the Radiologist for interpretation. Ensure all supplies related to X-ray and CT procedures are stocked, and report any equipment malfunctions immediately. 4. Collaboration and Compliance: Work collaboratively with the Radiologist, Sonographers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and effective patient management. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the CT and X-ray rooms. Comply with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as the center's policies and procedures regarding patient care, radiation safety, and infection control. Qualifications and Requirements Education: Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (e.g., Diploma/Degree in Radiologic Technology). Certification/Licensure: Current and valid registration/licensure as a Radiologic Technologist/Technician in X-ray. Additional certification or training in Computed Tomography (CT) is highly preferred or required. Experience: Proven work experience as a CT and X-Ray Technologist, preferably in a high-volume diagnostic center setting. Skills: Proficiency in operating advanced X-ray and multi-slice CT scanning equipment. Sound knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and evaluate image quality. Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient service skills with a compassionate demeanor. Ability to stand for extended periods and possess the physical stamina to assist in moving patients.
