Experience in Probabilistic Damage Stability Calculations is essential. You will estimate lightship weight, manage weight control during design development, and create statutory documents like capacity plans and tonnage plans. Liaising with class for booklet approval and providing technical support for software development activities will also be part of your role. Perform intact and damage stability calculations as per IMO, MARPOL, SOLAS, and class rules. Develop basic design drawings including GA (General Arrangement), midship section, lines plan, structural layout. Weight control Prepare hydrostatic curves, stability booklets, and loading manuals. Conduct inclining test procedures and analyse results. Support concept design studies, hull form development, and preliminary hydrodynamic assessments. Liaison with classification societies for stability and basic design approvals. Assist in preparing technical documents, calculations, and design reports. Work closely with structural, piping, electrical, and marine systems teams during basic design stage. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture / Ocean Engineering. 36 years of relevant experience in stability and basic ship/offshore design. Proficiency in stability & hydrostatics software (e.g. AutoHydro, GHS, NAPA, MaxSurf) Proficiency in CAD software pacjages for preparation of 2D drawings and 3D Models Knowledge of IMO regulations and classification society rules (ABS, DNV, BV). Strong understanding of hull form development, hydrostatics, and basic design principles. Good documentation and technical report-writing skills. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork abilities.

Conduct hull structure strength assessment and analysis, propose method to strengthen the structure, including load spreading and securing of project cargo. Prepare analysis report, structure plan, lashing calculation, stowage plan, securing plan, dunnage plan, heavy lifting plan for project cargo to owner, charterer, shipper, shipmaster class for approval. Liase with class, owner and charterer regarding any dispute in ship strength, load spreading, securing, and provide a resolution. Provide engineering support to business team/ Charterer team in bidding and ship evaluation. File, update and maintain work database. Optimize operation cost and improve work process continuously. Conduct training and impart technical knowledge to others when required. Diploma in Marine Engineering or Bachelor degree in Naval Architecture of equivalent. At least 5 years of work experiences as a Structure/ Basic Design Engineer in shipyard or marine engineering company. Candidates with more experiences may be considered for a higher level position. Hands-on use of Autocad system or similar cad system to produce design drawings. Hands-on use of Femap & Nastran structure analysis software or similar software. Experiences in cargo lashing design, DNV's Lashcon or similar software. Familiar with lifting and rigging design. Demonstrated ability to provide sound structure design work, produce realistic and executable plan. Proficient in using MS office to create report for Class/Owner's approval and for presentation. Good knowledge of ship stability, weight control, ship loading, marine structure and welding design. Able to work independently, cooperatively and proactively. Able to handle work under pressure in adhoc situation.

The Senior Naval Architect will lead and execute complex engineering projects related to the design, modification, conversion, and structural assessment of ships and offshore structures. Mentoring and supporting junior naval architects and draftsmen to ensure high technical standards and knowledge sharing will be essential. Keeping yourself updated with relevant regulations, industry trends, and advancements in ship design and offshore engineering is crucial. You will support project management teams with technical inputs, schedules, and resource planning. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or equivalent. A minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in ship design, structural analysis, or offshore engineering is required. A proven track record in leading design projects across various vessel types and a strong understanding of IMO regulations, Classification Society rules, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other statutory requirements are essential. Proficiency in naval architecture software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Maxsurf, GHS, NAPA, or equivalent is expected. Experience with 3D scanning, retrofit engineering, and conversion projects will be an advantage. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are necessary, along with strong communication skills and the ability to present technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.,
