Ensure fabrication activities (cutting, bending, welding, assembly) align with project timelines. Production Oversight: Supervise daily production operations on the shop floor. Allocate work to fitters, welders, and machine operators. Monitor resource utilization (material, labor, machines). Quality Assurance: Inspect fabricated parts to ensure dimensional and quality compliance. Coordinate with quality control team for stage-wise and final inspections. Assist in non-conformance analysis and corrective actions. Welding and Assembly Supervision: Ensure welding is carried out as per WPS (Welding Procedure Specification). Monitor joint preparation, fit-up, and welding quality. Oversee sub-assembly and final assembly processes. Material Management: Estimate material requirements and minimize wastage. Ensure traceability of raw materials and consumables. Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety procedures and PPE use. Comply with ISO, ASME, or other relevant fabrication standards. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain production logs, time sheets, and daily progress reports. Document welding logs, inspection reports, and process deviations. Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and suggest improvements in jigs, fixtures, or process flow. Support lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Skills Required: Deep knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, grinding, etc.) Proficiency in reading engineering and fabrication drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Understanding of material properties (especially metals like SS, MS, AL) Familiarity with quality standards (ISO 3834, ASME, AWS D1.1) Team handling and shift management skills
