Engineer - Material Planning Location - Nelamangala, Bangalore Your profile: Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Minimum 2to 3 years of experience in Material Planning Heavy Engineering Industry or similar industry. Knowledge of reading and interpreting Engineering Drawing. Basic knowledge of raw material i.e. plates and structural (Rods, Beams, Channels, Angles, Pipes and Tubes) with sizes and grades as available in Market. Basic Knowledge of Various Bought Items and relevant specifications. Knowledge of basics of developments, forming processes such as Bending, rolling and machining operations. Knowledge of Engineering calculations relevant to Material Planning Key Responsibilities Responsible for Material Planning with evaluation of Raw material requirements and bought out items as required for the manufacturing Equipments and Spares from their relevant Bill of Materials & Drawing. Creation of Purchase Requests in SAP for the Raw Materials & Bought outs for the Projects / Equipments /Spares to facilitate the Procurement Process. Co-ordination and follow up for ensuring the Material availability with the Procurement Team in line with the Manufacturing Schedules. Co ordination with Project managers for material and Bo items requirement for the project. Coordination with Production and planning team for material shortages and updation of material availability status. Facilitating in Creation of Purchase Requests for Workshop Consumables, Tooling and other Capex items requirements for Production Department . Facilitating in Creation of Purchase Request for Safety Department, Packing & Logistics departments for their requirement of materials and services. Consolidating demands of Fasteners, Fittings, UHMWPE items, Gaskets and other Bulk items required for various projects and creating the Purchase request for the same. Maintaining the Reports of Status of Open Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders & Good Receipts Note from SAP and also maintaining a Master Good Receipt Note List. Engagement in Continual Improvement and other Development Projects / activities. Maintaining the necessary the information required for applicable KPIs and monitoring them for performance. We are expanding our Supply Chain team and are seeking talented individuals to fill the roles of SCM Analyst , Material Planner , and Senior Buyer. SCM Analyst Purchasing Administration: Administer purchasing activities, ensuring efficient processing of purchase requisitions. Place orders based on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) requirements. Verify price and delivery dates within established contracts. Coordination and Execution: Coordinate purchasing activities to meet forecast commitments, ensuring timely processing of purchase requisitions. Expedite orders as necessary to meet production requirements. Discrepancy Resolution: Work with incoming inspection and receiving to resolve discrepancies in delivered materials. Supplier Monitoring: Monitor supplier delivery to ensure on-time performance. 2. Material Planner Demand and Inventory Analysis: Conduct demand comparisons to identify variances. Perform cumulative lead time analysis. Analyze excess inventory. Implement ABC stratification for inventory management. Inventory Management and Control: Manage inventory levels. Address hit shortages proactively. Change Management and Data Verification: Participate in Engineering Change Notice (ECN) Engineering & Operations (E&O) meetings. Verify scheduled engineering change dates. Verify Material Data System (MDS) loading. Production Planning and Financial Reconciliation: Develop and manage Capacity to Promise (CTP) commitments for production. Perform prepaid reconciliation. 3. Senior Buyer Team Leadership and Procurement Coordination: Lead a team of buyers. Coordinate purchasing activities with suppliers to effectively procure parts, meeting production and revenue targets. Supplier and Risk Management: Manage supplier risk by monitoring supplier capacity and delivery ratings. Develop new supplier sources where existing vendors and suppliers are inadequate. Cost and Inventory Management: Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities. Control inventory levels. Drive for cost innovation for purchasing parts / activity. Ensure logistics cost reduction. Global Procurement: Require domestic or global exposure of assigned commodities.

Role & responsibilities: Responsible for Local / Imports material planning follow-up, management of deliveries from supplier end to factory including customs clearance. Responsible to release of forecast, POs & schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels. Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedule by ensuring the right products are delivered to the right location on time to meet production requirements, in the most cost-effective way. Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production schedules. Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of fit. Monitor OTD of Suppliers and assist sourcing lead in creating improvement plan for achievement of supplier OTD. Implement engineering changes to minimize obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability. Resolve supplier grievances regarding payment with the help of Sourcing team & Finance team. Participate in various development plans and active testing of SAP updates. Drive the cost optimization activity using various platforms to reduce cost per contract. Implement all processes to agreed standards and targets and support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement. Track progress of reject notes and chase replacement parts or credit. Monitor the performance and selection of suppliers in association with Quality Dept. Attend relevant meetings as and when required. Assist with the purchasing of components / services if and when required. To undertake any other duties as appropriate within their competence, as required by their Head of Unit from time to time Skills/Competencies: Hands on Experience with SAP MM Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally. Job Purpose- Monitor and ensure that strategic material planning processes are in place to enable operational and production continuity. Roles & Responsibilities Liaise with the Production Planning Team and Procurement Team for timely procurement of material and to meet the customer demand. Liaise with other departments like Production Planning, QC, Supply Chain to ensure smooth flow of information and efficient coordination of activities. Plan and implement Material Production Scheduling/Planning System while managing operational and capacity constraints. Ensure that consistent materials planning processes are applied across the business. Ensure that material scheduling strategy and processes are in place and work effectively. Ensure materials are available to meet designated production schedule. Tracking production volume and monitoring customer demand patterns and purchasing trends. Monitor MRP forecasts, inventory, production requirements, and inventory transactions. Ensure material supply meets production requirements, specifications and quality standards with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs. Analyse and escalate the current and future requirements of the critical / non-critical materials (BOM), including preliminary specifications/documentation and date commodity is needed. Managing inventory issues / risk, schedule changes, and cancellations and ensure that contingency plans are in place.
