Continual Improvement is the motto at Multitechh Engi Fab (MEF) PIPING, where as a Combination Pipe Fabricator, you will play a crucial role in fitting and welding piping components. Working under limited supervision, you will follow detailed specifications to ensure each weld meets the specified standards using appropriate equipment and materials. Safety is paramount, and you will need to adhere to recommended procedures and precautions to minimize the risk of injury to yourself and your colleagues. Additionally, you may be responsible for supervising a team of helpers or assistants. Your responsibilities will include reading and interpreting drawings, making fit-ups for X-ray welding of various pipe sizes and materials, checking hold points throughout fabrication, performing basic calculations based on fabrication drawings, conducting raw material checks, operating machines and tools safely, assembling components, and collaborating with other departments to improve work processes. You must also be able to operate basic cutting equipment and promote a culture of safety, productivity, and positivity within the team. To be eligible for this position, you should have a minimum of two years of related experience and/or training. Preferred qualifications include prior experience as a Piping Fabricator, familiarity with quality checks in fabricating, proficiency in operating shop equipment such as overhead cranes and hand tools, knowledge of different types and sizes of structural materials, and an understanding of weld fittings and piping materials. In this role, you can expect to face physical strain at times, including bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, reaching, standing for long periods, lifting and/or carrying objects, and potentially working at heights of up to 7 meters.
