As an Electrical Engineer at Northern Tool, you will be responsible for performing a variety of electrical engineering activities based on the provided scope of work. This includes owning and maintaining the design, components, and assemblies utilizing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) techniques to minimize product cost through design and process improvements. Your tasks will involve creating specifications, conducting preliminary design reviews, and participating in critical design reviews. Your role will also involve developing the electrical system test requirements and determining the optimal component and wire harness design to ensure overall design, performance, and cost compliance. You will be responsible for identifying the nature and type of CAD models, detail drawings, and analyses needed to support the design process and overseeing their release through the release cycle. In this position, you will be expected to generate concept sketches on paper and create detailed part designs, models, and drawings using Creo software. Additionally, you will lead and participate in design reviews to ensure comprehensive input and involvement from all relevant groups. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating designs using engineering calculations, material behavior principles, and design analysis tools to ensure Design to Cost (DTC) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) compliance.
