As an MSC or BSC graduate in Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering, you will be responsible for round trip Container Ship Stowage planning for vessels across regions. Your main objective will be to ensure the central stowage planning of container vessels, focusing on stability and safety. It is crucial to maintain high safety standards for container stowage, with no compromises on the safety of vessels, crew, and containers. Your role will involve optimizing vessels to ensure safe and maximum utilization with minimum operational costs. Key goals for your team will include Trim Optimization, Restow Management, Crane Split, efficient Stowage Planning, and Performing Master Plan. You will be held accountable for planning matters on vessels under your individual responsibility. Effective communication and collaboration with terminals and vessel command are essential to execute stowage plans smoothly. Close coordination with internal stakeholders and a proactive approach in discussing stowage matters will be necessary. Additionally, evaluating the suitability of deployment and intake of vessels based on characteristics and trade requirements will be part of your responsibilities. Administrative tasks such as accurate system updates, record-keeping, and establishing/continuously reviewing Planning SOPs will also fall under your purview. You will be responsible for approving CODs, special cargo applications, and minimizing water ballast within safe limits to increase fuel savings. Furthermore, your role may require participation in port time reduction projects as needed, with periodic reviews for developments.
