  • This role ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of marine systems, including cargo handling, mooring, and offloading processes.
  • Provide expert advisory to ensure safe operations in routine and critical tasks is adhered to by following company policies, risk mitigation and risk assessments for Deepwater and FPSO marine operations
  • Ensure FPSO fleet certification, audits and surveys are in accordance with regulatory and PMS plans
  • Advise on Marine and Cargo Operations to ensure that FPSO marine systems and associated utilities plant operated and maintained in compliance with ExxonMobil standards, Class and Flag state requirements
  • Expert advisory on Tank entry preparation including purging, gas freeing and successfully supervised tank entries and other associated work
  • Provides deep expertise within marine vessel & marine terminals operations and technical interfaces to support business units risk management, decision-making and work processes.
    Job location is based out of Bangalore, Karnataka

What you will do:

  • Support Marine Operations management including but not limited to operations of marine equipment and systems on FPSO units. Ensure fleetwide FPSO systems including cargo, slop, ballast, and offloading systems are maintained operated safely and efficiently.
  • Provide expertise to deepwater Business Units on safety and compliance of all Class and Flag state regulations including environmental standards. (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISPS, ISM etc.)
  • Participate in risk assessments and safety drills and manage emergency response procedures for marine incidents.
  • Coordinate with Crude lifting teams and export tanker operators if needed on offloading operations, for new operations, liaise with local authorities, marine operation managers, and senior pilots to ensure safe marine navigation inside the 500m zone and offloading operations
  • Support in organizing and manage maintenance operations for marine equipment. Monitor the condition of navigation aids, safety control systems, and offloading equipment. Ensure the integrity of storage, export, and ballast piping systems.
  • Expert advisory on Life Saving Appliances, emergency Evacuation Procedures, Cargo, stability, stress monitoring of vessel hull and safe ballast operations
  • Support fleet wise standardization and preparation of offloading documentation, including Bills of Lading, Cargo Manifests, and Certificates of Quality and Quantity.
  • Maintain records of FPSO statutory certifications and ensure their compliance.

About You:

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 yr. experience as a Chief Officer or Master on board oil tankers, or five (5) years as a Loading Master on FPSO units.
  • Demonstrated leadership in execution and safety in carrying out FPSO berthing. Deep knowledge on Offloading equipment including chain and cargo export hose, pilotage of tankers, turnaround of export tankers for oil terminal FPSO
  • Experience in marine vessel logistics of across OSV, Tugs in the field for FPSO, monitoring crew changes, supply provisions and helicopter operations etc.
  • Must have sailed as a senior licensed Deck or Engine officer onboard conventional tankers or LNG Carriers
  • Strong knowledge of maritime regulations and industry standards with preferably DP Operator Certificate.
  • Experience with vessel audits and inspections; Familiarity with maritime safety management systems.
  • Proficiency in executing tank and system repairs and managing impact to offloading delays
  • Experience in computerized Maintenance Management System, updating records and generate reports
  • Strong leadership and collaboration, ability to communicate clearly and interface with Senior Management.

  • Effective mentoring & motivating capabilities, ability to work with different cultures and diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills and effectively plan and prioritize activities.
