Prepare, analyze, and comment on the performance reports received from the vessel to inform about the soundness of the machinery. Assist owners and Fleet cell in dealing with commercial liability reports to counter. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: - Verify that the performance records of the main engine are as per the maker's instructions. - Monitor the machinery performance for accuracy and highlight possible errors. - Compare the performance data with the shop trial and sea trial reports, and report any deviation along with remedial actions. - Monitor the vessel's daily speed, fuel oil, Cylinder oil consumption and generate a report at the end of the month. - Prepare the analysis report on aux engine performance reports. - Generate Speed Vs Fuel consumption trend analysis for long periods as requested by the clients. - Generate any other vessel-specific reports as per clients" requirements. - Assist with any additional jobs as directed by the Line Manager. Department : Service & Maintenance Reports To : Marine Service Manager Position Summary: The Assistant Marine Service Manager plays a critical support role in overseeing the daily operations of the marine service department. This position assists in coordinating repair and maintenance activities, supervising technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and upholding high standards of customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of marine systems, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities: Support the Marine Service Manager in planning, scheduling, and overseeing service and repair activities for marine vessels Supervise and guide technicians to ensure timely and quality service delivery Monitor work orders, parts inventory, and job progress to optimize efficiency Assist with customer communications, providing updates and ensuring satisfaction Help manage budgets, invoices, and cost estimates Ensure all work is performed in compliance with marine safety and environmental regulations Coordinate vendor relationships and assist in parts sourcing as needed Maintain accurate service records, technician logs, and maintenance histories Identify and recommend process improvements for workflow, scheduling, and customer service Step into leadership duties in the absence of the Service Manager Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in marine maintenance, repair, or a related technical service environment BE mechanical engineer, Marine Engineer Proven experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred Strong understanding of marine mechanical, electrical, and propulsion systems Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced service environment Proficient in service management software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of applicable marine safety and environmental regulations Why Join Us?
