A preschool teacher's job is to create a stimulating learning environment for children ages three to five, and help them develop socially and emotionally. Responsibilities Teaching : Teach basic skills like colors, shapes, letters, and numbers Planning : Create a curriculum that meets children's needs and interests Assessing : Observe and assess children's learning and development Communicating : Report to parents about their child's progress and behavior Managing : Create and maintain a safe and orderly classroom Supporting : Help children develop confidence, self-esteem, and social skills Creating : Design activities that encourage exploration and discovery Monitoring : Watch for signs of developmental delays and behavioral issues Collaborating : Work with parents, other teachers, and administrators Other duties Preparing healthy snacks and meals Helping children learn to dress, eat, and use the toilet Supervising children during free time Planning and supervising field trips Ordering and maintaining classroom supplies Administering tests TraitsPreschool teachers should be creative, patient, organized, and have a passion for working with children. They should also be able to model positive behavior and build trusting relationships with children.
