As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for applying your knowledge of manufacturing practices and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to create high-quality and cost-effective mechanical and packaged systems designs. This will involve utilizing 3-dimensional solid modeling and 2-dimensional computer-aided design (CAD) software, with a preference for experience in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. Your duties will include the creation and management of material masters and bills of material in the business information system (SAP) through the engineering change management process. Additionally, you will provide customer support for assigned projects, develop project engineering documentation to meet customer requirements, and create installation and commissioning instructions for field services. You will also be expected to offer technical sales support for customer proposals and ensure compliance with internal processes, industry technical regulations, standards, and other regulatory requirements. To be successful in this role, you should have experience in designing steam, hydro, or gas turbine auxiliary equipment and applications, as well as equipment retrofit design. You must be able to apply basic mechanical engineering principles to analyze, design, and troubleshoot mechanical systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently, proactively identify and resolve technical issues, and complete tasks on schedule. Knowledge of machining practices, GD&T, design for manufacturability, and lean manufacturing is required. Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, Unigraphics, Solidworks, or similar solid modeling design software is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel, along with other software applications/platforms, is also necessary to excel in this role.,
