The role of Engineer-CAD Automation in the Design team for TMI business (TMI Custom Air Handling Products) requires a BE/MTech in Mechanical Engineering with 2-4 years of experience. Reporting to the Senior Project Lead and based in Bangalore, as an Engineer-CAD Automation, you will be responsible for developing and implementing CAD automation solutions using iLogic and Autodesk Inventor. Your primary focus will be to enhance engineering efficiency, reduce design cycle time, and facilitate seamless configuration of custom air handling units. Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to creating parametric models, automation scripts, and integrated drawing tools. To excel in this role, you must be proficient in Autodesk Inventor, covering part, assembly, sheet metal, and drawing environments. In addition, hands-on experience or a strong foundational knowledge in iLogic scripting and VB.NET for CAD automation is essential. A solid understanding of parametric design, modular assemblies, and mechanical design principles is required. Experience in mechanical product design at component, subsystem, and system levels is also necessary. Moreover, you should possess a deep understanding of sheet metal design principles and manufacturing methods, along with knowledge of weldments, standard hardware selection, and modular frame design. Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and finishing operations (sheet metal, tubular frames, weldments & machine parts) is crucial. Your ability to comprehend and implement engineering requirements into automated CAD logic will be key to success in this role. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork. Furthermore, knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design validation methods such as DFMEA and concept evaluation metrics is advantageous. Prior experience in a global engineering team environment, including collaboration across regions and time zones, will be beneficial for seamless coordination and project execution.,
