Senior Engineer - Manufacturing Engineering Weir Minerals WMI Bangalore Onsite The Senior Engineer Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for driving the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, with a strong focus on the design and implementation of tools, fixtures, and jigs to support efficient and high-quality production. Design and develop high-quality 3D models of fixtures, jigs, and tooling using UG NX software, ensuring alignment with manufacturing requirements and design standards. Lead the introduction of new products and processes within the WMI framework, ensuring smooth integration into the production environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology, product engineering, and manufacturing to ensure design feasibility and alignment with NPI goals. Identify and implement process improvements that reduce cycle times, enhance safety, and support continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen. Stay current with advancements in 3D design tools and manufacturing technologies to drive innovation and maintain best practices. Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications: Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE Mechanical) or completion of a 4-year GTTC program. 6 8 years of hands-on experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong focus on designing fixtures, tools, and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly UG NX, for designing manufacturing tooling and fixtures. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen. Knowledge of safety standards and ergonomic considerations in tool and fixture design for production environments.
