Manual / Functional Test Engineer

As a highly skilled Manual / Functional Test Engineer with 6+ years of experience in Functional Testing within the Finance/Investment Brokerage domain, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - **Test Planning:** Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications. - **Test Execution:** Execute manual tests, analyze results, and report defects to the development team. - **Collaboration:** Work closely with developers, test engineers, and product managers to identify test requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage. - **Continuous Improvement:** Identify opportunities for test optimization, implement best practices, and improve testing efficiency. - **Analytical Skills:** Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail. - **Communication:** Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with teams. - **Team Player:** Work effectively in a team-oriented environment, collaborating across departments. - **Mentoring:** Provide guidance and mentorship to junior test engineers to enhance their automation skills. In order to excel in this role, you must possess the following skills: - 6+ years of experience in Functional Testing within a Finance/Investment Brokerage background. - Strong understanding of Finance/Banking domain. - Proficiency in understanding BRD (Business Requirement Document) and FRD (Functional Requirement Document). - Ability to identify high-level testing scenarios with a strong product mindset. - Proficient in SDLC, STLC, and both Waterfall and Agile methodologies. - Quality-oriented mindset with a "test to break" attitude. - Knowledge of Finance/Banking domains is a must; Wealth Management domain experience is a plus. - Proficiency in creating test cases based on identified scenarios. - Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholder teams. - Experience with Putty or Mainframes for running commands to check values/data. - Proficiency in ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and Jira (Bug Tracking System). - Ability to identify, report, track, and work toward defect closure. - Basic understanding of Automation tools like UFT/ Selenium (up to running scripts). Additionally, it would be beneficial to have the following skills: - Experience in Wealth Management domain to understand business requirements. - Ability to present to clients, conduct business walkthroughs, and train new team members on functionality and testing scope. - Experience in mentoring and ramping up team members on functional testing processes.
