As an FX Artist, you will be responsible for creating stunning and realistic visual effects for films, television, and other media projects. Your main tasks will include simulating natural phenomena such as fire, water, smoke, and explosions, as well as designing visually compelling elements using software like Houdini, Maya, and After Effects. Working closely with animators, designers, and technical teams, you will ensure that the effects seamlessly integrate into the project's creative vision while meeting technical requirements. Strong problem-solving skills, artistic creativity, and a deep understanding of physics and fluid dynamics are crucial for this role. You will collaborate effectively with the creative head, VFX/DFX supervisors, and leads to incorporate feedback and revisions into your work. Your key responsibilities will include designing and creating effects like fire, smoke, water, explosions, and environmental phenomena, developing simulations for destruction, particle systems, and procedural effects, and working with lighting and compositing teams to integrate effects into live-action footage or CG renders. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating cloth and fur simulations, addressing deformation corrections, and collaborating with rigging and animation teams to enhance character effects. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Houdini, Maya, Blender, Nuke, and other simulation tools is required, along with a strong understanding of physics-based simulations and knowledge of scripting languages like Python, MEL, and VEX for automation and customization. You should also have experience with rendering engines such as Arnold, Redshift, Mantra, or similar, and possess a strong sense of motion, scale, and detail to create believable effects. An understanding of color, light, and composition is essential to ensure seamless integration. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar role within a VFX studio or production environment and a portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating high-quality grooms for feature films, episodics, and commercials.,
