The Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) team is part of Regulatory Reporting and Treasury Controllership Team and is responsible for providing comprehensive Treasury and regulatory reporting support covering all Treasury transactions, including cash, debt, equity, derivative, and investments. Treasury Reporting COE is responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of all the SEC, FED and LE reporting deliverables for various Treasury Products; Debt, Investments, Derivatives and AOCI. This is an exciting opportunity to establish and lead the SEC and FED reporting for American Express. The position will involve close interactions with a diverse stakeholder group on Treasury products including conclusion on accounting and reporting implications and daily monitoring of results owing to AXP s category change. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Timely and accurate delivery of financial statements forming part of SEC filings (10-K,10-Q, etc.) and reports filed with regulator (Y9C, Y9LP, Y15, 2052a, 009 etc.) relating to treasury products for AXP and its various subsidiaries. Perform and review of detailed variance analysis explaining business drivers and market impacts on the portfolio, leveraged by various stakeholders, including Senior Management. Collaborate and communicate effectively with business partners, e.g. Global Treasury, External Reporting, Global Accounting Policy Group and Tax to drive the results. Partnering within GTC and Regulatory Reporting team to monitor daily results and its impact on the liquidity ratios. Support increasing regulatory reporting environment and other projects driving automation/process enhancements. Build/perform/review controls to ensure compliance with SOX, SEC, Bank Holding Company regulations and numerous internal guidelines. Additional responsibilities including participation in companywide initiatives and supporting external audit. Continuously challenge the Status Quo and seek opportunity for redesign/automate the processes. Leads, motivates, and develops a team of professionals to accomplish goals while enhancing colleague engagement, development, inclusion, and diversity. Minimum Qualifications CA/CPA or equivalent with 6-8 years of experience in finance and reporting Prior experience in SEC/BHC reporting and working with Tier 1/2 banks will be a plus Experience in Treasury/Treasury Controllership and/or knowledge of capital markets is a plus Knowledge/experience related to using various analytical tools such as Power BI/Python is a plus A self-starter, with a proactive approach and a passion to consistently deliver high quality service and exceed expectations. A quick learner with outstanding problem-solving skills. Continue to challenge the status quo by bringing and implementing innovative ideas for continuous improvement in our process. Proven ability to effectively interact and manage relationships with all levels and stakeholders of an organization including senior leadership/officers as well as with external auditors. Ability to prioritize, drive projects and define medium to long term vision for the team focusing on value creation for partners and the organization. Ability to pivot with agility and navigate ambiguity People Leadership experience is additional plus. Technical Skills/Capabilities: High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office; excellent Excel skills.
