About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong experience in plant maintenance, preventive maintenance planning, machine troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding machine layouts, reading technical drawings, identifying machine elements, and applying structured problem-solving methodologies such as Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why, and Pareto Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities to improve machine availability and reliability.
• Drive maintenance strategies and ensure PM adherence across the plant.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment failures using structured root cause analysis tools.
• Conduct Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, 5 Why, and Pareto Analysis for recurring breakdowns and implement corrective actions.
• Read and interpret machine drawings, layouts, technical manuals, and spare part catalogues.
• Perform physical field mapping of machine components for troubleshooting and spare identification.
• Support maintenance activities related to:
• Plant Machinery
• Utilities (Compressors, DG Sets, Air Systems, etc.)
• Buildings & Facilities
• Material Handling Systems
• Coordinate with suppliers and service providers for spare parts procurement, maintenance contracts, and technical support.
• Monitor machine performance and work towards improving MTBF and reducing MTTR.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, permit systems, and EHS requirements.
• Support TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain maintenance records, reports, and documentation using MS Office tools.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of preventive and breakdown maintenance.
• Experience in manufacturing/automobile industry maintenance.
• Understanding of overall plant maintenance activities.
• Ability to read and understand machine drawings and layouts.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment and allied mechanical systems.
• Spare identification and technical specification understanding.
• Basic understanding of utilities and facility maintenance.
• Vendor management and contractor handling experience.

Problem Solving Skills

• Hands-on experience in:
• Why-Why Analysis
• 5 Why Methodology
• Fishbone (Ishikawa) Diagram
• Pareto Analysis
• Root Cause Analysis (RCA)

Software Skills

• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge preferred
• Exposure to maintenance management systems is an added advantage
