As an experienced Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Applications and Infrastructure management, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining databases with a focus on performance optimization, troubleshooting, high availability, disaster recovery, and automation. Your expertise in Open Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB, along with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, will be essential for this role. You will be tasked with performing routine maintenance tasks including backup, recovery, patching, and performance tuning, monitoring database activity, health, and performance, optimizing database performance, ensuring high availability, replication, failover, and clustering, and developing tools to automate database administration tasks. Additionally, you will be required to handle critical escalations, diagnose performance bottlenecks, collaborate with DevOps and application teams for Root Cause Analysis, design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery plans, and design scalable, high-performance database systems for enterprise applications. Your role will also involve managing databases using Docker and Kubernetes, optimizing containerized database solutions, implementing CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment, collaborating with application teams for seamless integration, providing guidance on database best practices, interacting with customers and partners, continuously monitoring database performance statistics, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of database architectures and processes. To excel in this role, you must have deep knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis, and MongoDB, hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes, a strong understanding of application and infrastructure integration, proven experience in performance tuning and optimization, expertise in maintenance automation, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery strategies, knowledge of security and compliance best practices, effective collaboration and communication abilities, and strong documentation skills.
