As a Heavy Fabrication Fitter, your primary responsibilities will include: Having knowledge about basic EHS guidelines, environmental aspects, and risks related to inspection activities on machines and during assembly. Interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine fitting requirements. Assembling and fitting metal parts by aligning, grinding, and adjusting components to ensure a proper fit. Marking, measuring, and cutting materials accurately before assembly. Utilizing hand tools, power tools, gas cutting, grinders, drills, and fitting equipment. Assisting in welding preparation and ensuring correct positioning of parts before welding. Inspecting assembled components for defects or misalignment and making necessary adjustments. Collaborating with fabrication and welding teams to meet project deadlines. Maintaining tools and equipment in good working order. Operating grinding machines to prepare chamfering of parts. Following lean approaches like 5s, TPM, Kaizen, etc., and maintaining a safe and clean workplace. Adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring a clean, organized work area. Qualifications: ITI fitter / Diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship is preferred. Competency with hand and power tools. Good mechanical aptitude and physical stamina. Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
