Mainframe Support Engineer - COBOL & DB2

As a Technical and Business Support Analyst for Citi Applications, your role involves providing quick resolutions to issues, driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements to ensure the success of the business. Your responsibilities include managing, maintaining, and supporting environments with a focus on stability, quality, and functionality to meet service level expectations. You will be responsible for start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover. Additionally, you will develop and maintain technical support documentation and assess risks and impacts of test environment issues, escalating them to business and technology management promptly. Key Responsibilities: - Provide technical and business support for users of Citi Applications - Manage, maintain, and support environments for stability, quality, and functionality - Conduct start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover - Develop and maintain technical support documentation - Assess risk and impact of test environment issues and escalate them timely - Ensure storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly - Engage in post-implementation analysis to resolve issues permanently - Define operating standards and processes - Act as a liaison between users, internal technology groups, and vendors - Provide advisory and coaching support to new or lower-level analysts - Utilize evaluative judgment in complicated and unique situations - Demonstrate sound communication and diplomacy skills Qualifications: - 6 to 9 years of experience managing a Test Environment in a support role, including health check and UAT support - Proficiency in COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, and DB2 - Experience in handling components from multiple projects, version control, package promotion, and preparing environments for UAT and production installation activities - Ability to work independently and perform release activities such as requesting UAT/PROD deployment, debugging issues, and preparing release documents - Strong analytical and problems-solving skills - Support client testing and track/report issues using tools - Knowledge/experience of Problem Management Tools - Effective workload planning and organization - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms - Capability to work as part of a virtual team in a culturally diverse environment If you require a reasonable accommodation due to a disability to utilize search tools or apply for a career opportunity, review Accessibility at Citi.
