The ideal candidate will have proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, and Agile Software Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). The Mainframe Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining mainframe applications that meet business requirements. Key Responsibilities : - Design, develop, test, and implement mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure that applications meet business needs. - Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. - Optimize and enhance existing mainframe applications for performance and maintainability. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner. - Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. - Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process improvements. - Ensure code quality and adherence to coding standards and best practices. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in mainframe technology. Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 5 to 10 years of experience in mainframe development. - Proficient in COBOL, JCL, DB2, and VSAM. - Strong understanding of Agile Software Development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe). - Experience with mainframe tools and utilities. - Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications : - Experience in financial services or a related industry. - Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools. - Knowledge of additional mainframe programming languages and technologies.
