Job Responsibilities: Design, code, test, and debug mainframe applications using core languages and technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Lead and manage mainframe development projects from inception to completion, taking responsibility for project execution and delivery. Coordinate effectively with project managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to precisely define project requirements, scope, and deliverables. Develop and implement comprehensive system enhancements and modifications to existing mainframe applications. Mentor and guide junior mainframe developers, providing technical support, code reviews, and fostering their growth. Ensure adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and best practices throughout the development lifecycle. Apply knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques for mainframe systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation. Identify and resolve system bottlenecks and performance issues proactively to maintain optimal system health. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimizing downtime and disruption to business operations. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns. Translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable terms for non-technical stakeholders. Required Skills: Extensive experience in Mainframe Technologies. Proficiency in Mainframe programming languages and tools, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2. Strong capabilities in designing, coding, testing, and debugging mainframe applications. Experience in leading and managing mainframe development projects. Ability to coordinate with various stakeholders and define project requirements. Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization of mainframe systems. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for technical issues. Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts. Good to Have: Experience working in an Agile development environment.
