Mainframe Developer

We are actively seeking a skilled Mainframe Developer with 3-5 years of experience to join our technology team. We are looking for candidates who can join us on an immediate to 15-day (maximum) notice period . In this role, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of critical mainframe applications. You will leverage your expertise in COBOL, JCL, and DB2 to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our core systems. Key Responsibilities: Application Development: Design, develop, and implement new functionalities and modules for mainframe applications using COBOL programming language. Maintenance & Enhancement: Perform maintenance, debugging, and enhancement activities on existing mainframe programs. Job Control Language (JCL): Develop and modify JCL scripts for batch processing, job scheduling, and utility executions. Database Interaction: Work extensively with DB2 database, including writing SQL queries, developing stored procedures, and performing data manipulation. Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and quick recovery. Testing: Conduct unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure application quality. Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including program specifications, design documents, and test plans. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other developers, business analysts, and quality assurance teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Required Qualifications: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Mainframe Developer. Proven experience in developing and maintaining applications on the Mainframe platform. Mandatory Skills: Mainframe: Strong understanding of the Mainframe environment. COBOL: Proficient in COBOL programming language. JCL: Expertise in writing and managing Job Control Language (JCL). DB2: Solid experience with DB2 database, including SQL querying and database interaction.
