Mainframe Assembler Specialist

The Senior Mainframe Assembler Specialist plays a crucial role in addressing a wide range of issues that require analyzing data and evaluating various factors. It is essential for you to possess a strong understanding of assembler technologies and code debugging. Your role involves demonstrating sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques to solve problems efficiently. Collaboration with senior internal and external stakeholders in your field of expertise is a key aspect of this role. Additionally, you will be involved in migration projects for critical, industry-class, in-house, or commercial products, as well as creating tools for project work. Your responsibilities will include learning the Astadia Factory tools for mainframe transformations, providing expert-level knowledge and debugging in assembler, coding in mainframe assembler at an expert level, documenting requirements and system design, and actively participating in multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. It is crucial to deliver high-quality results within the project scope without any compromises. Working closely with team members and clients to achieve desired outcomes, thriving in a collaborative and dynamic environment, and collaborating with the client's mainframe specialists are also part of your duties. Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience - 7+ years of experience with mainframe application and database technologies - 7+ years of development experience in mainframe assembler coding, with additional knowledge of assembler on Windows or Linux being a plus - Certifications in any cloud technologies - Desirable: 2+ years of development experience using cutting-edge tools in JAVA Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: - Expertise in mainframe application technologies such as COBOL, CICS, and DB2 - Proficiency in coding mainframe assembler, with experience in Windows or Linux assembler being an advantage - Ability to debug code, perform builds, and rollouts - Familiarity with algorithms, data structures, and abstract design principles - Exposure to or experience with third-party development frameworks - Strong object-oriented programming and debugging skills - Proven experience in mainframe and cloud technology, including database development - Knowledge of SQL development, database concepts, and database object maintenance - Experience in unit testing, test-driven development, integration testing, and deployment using cloud technologies - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficiency in Waterfall and Agile Development Methodologies In this role, your expertise in mainframe technologies, proficiency in assembler coding, and ability to collaborate effectively will be instrumental in achieving project success and delivering high-quality solutions.,
