Role & responsibilities Ensure effective implementation of the system within their area. Overall responsibility of proper functioning of their respective area. Ensure that the functioning of the laboratory is in accordance with the standard procedures and systems. Ensure timely calibration of equipment as per need, wherever applicable. Ensure proper maintenance, service, repair, and smooth functioning of all machines/equipment of their department. Supervise the working of technical and non-technical personnel. Identify training need for members in respective department. Waste management. Preparation of SOPs where necessary. Ensure recording of equipment preventive/breakdown maintenance details. Observation of punctuality and discipline in the department. Interact with patient/customer and their clinician to understand the problem, if needed. In case of emergency/major problem, inform the patient/customers doctor or give provisional report if needed. Ensure delivery of report in time. Help in selection and evaluation of suppliers. Analysis of non-conformities and initiation of corrective actions. Disposition of non-conforming results/ reports. Controls further processing until any conditions likely to cause non –conformities are rectified. Ensuring implementation of corrective and preventive action and its verification. Devising the systems/ways to improve accuracy, reliability, and quick reporting. Availability of reagents and materials for smooth functioning of the department. Ensure proper housekeeping and administration in the department.
