About the Role: We are seeking a talented and passionate Illustrator & Children's Book Designer Intern to bring our vision for "Little Lights" to life. You will be instrumental in illustrating each Hadith story, designing the full book layout, and ensuring a consistent, charming visual style that resonates with young readers and their families. This is a unique opportunity to contribute creatively to a meaningful project from start to finish, backed by AJ Corporation's commitment to quality education. Key Responsibilities: Create original, high-quality digital illustrations for 15 Hadith stories, featuring our main characters, Adam and Maryam. Develop a diverse range of expressions, poses, and settings for Adam and Maryam while maintaining their consistent appearance (including Maryam's hijab). Design the entire book layout in a landscape format, ensuring a clear and engaging presentation for Hadith text, translations, stories, and activities across facing pages. Craft unique and appealing visuals for each Hadith's theme, story, and moral message. Collaborate closely with the author to align illustrations with the narrative and overall book vision. Prepare final artwork and book files for digital publishing and print-on-demand platforms. Ensure all illustrations and design elements are age-appropriate (6-8 years old) and reflect a warm, inviting, and positive tone. Incorporate interactive activity elements directly into the page design. Qualifications: Proficiency in digital illustration software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, etc.). A strong portfolio demonstrating children's book illustration, character design, or similar work that showcases your ability to create engaging, age-appropriate visuals. Experience with book layout and design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Affinity Publisher, Canva for advanced layouts) is a significant plus. Exceptional creativity, storytelling through visuals, and attention to detail. Familiarity with Islamic themes, values, and cultural nuances is a strong advantage, along with an ability to depict diverse characters respectfully.
