These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, product and process audits, development, corrective action, and production process evaluation/improvement. The incumbent will be required to work with new as well as existing suppliers. RESPONSIBILITIES to include but not limited to: 1. Working with Sourcing and other functional groups, the incumbent will drive the supplier qualification process for all existing and prospective company suppliers in accordance with corporate procedures. Responsible for supplier qualification in conjunction with Sourcing and other applicable groups for the introduction of new suppliers, products, and production processes. 2. Responsible for supporting all elements of the supplier quality management system including, first piece approvals, periodic production part inspections, product/process validations and improvement, control plan development and adherence, non-conforming material containment, root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action. 3. Assist suppliers in understanding and implementing company product specifications. 4. Responsible for assisting in supplier corrective action as it pertains to internal or external failures. For issues affecting product availability, lead team meetings to ensure actions and status are communicated effectively. 5. Responsible for supplier development. In conjunction with the Global Quality Assurance Engineering group, identify opportunities for development based on risk and benefit. Development opportunities to include, but not limited to, improved inspection initiatives, leveraging technology, mistake proofing, capacity improvement, or quality management opportunities. 6. Perform special projects as assigned by the Supplier Quality Manager. 7. Initiate periodic communication with internal customers to ensure quality objectives are clearly identified and acted upon. QUALIFICATIONS : 1. Bachelors degree in Engineering required. 2. Minimum of 4years’ experience in a supplier quality engineering role with demonstrated success in supplier qualification, management, correction, and development preferred. 3. Experience with managing supplier quality in the production of cast and machined components. 4. Basic knowledge of facility audits in accordance with industry standard QMS guidelines. 5. A strong knowledge of fundamental quality engineering principles and techniques; including statistical analysis and related software. 6. ASQ Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer or equivalent international certification highly desirable. 7. Proficient in problem solving. 8. Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (MS Office, Minitab, etc.). 9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 10. Willing and able to travel globally as required. 11. Able to travel 50% of the time in short notice. 12. Working knowledge of measuring equipment and technology.
