Your opportunity to join the adventure In Njord, you will join a team of 9 talented and welcoming colleagues. As a Technical Solutions Manager based in Mumbai, you will lead the execution of vessel retrofit projects, from technical feasibility to yard commissioning. This is a permanent, individual contributor role ideal for a Marine Engineer or Naval Architect with a strong grounding in docking, retrofit implementation, and stakeholder coordination. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing engineering design reviews, class interactions, vendor negotiations, and real-time problem-solving during retrofits involving basic Energy Efficiency Technologies (EETs) like LEDs and VFDs to highly complex EETs like WAPS, ALS, Shore power and CCS Systems. As a Technical Solutions Manager, you will manage - End-to-End Retrofit Management - Own retrofit projects from inception to completion including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination. Engineering & Electrical Integration - Review design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions. Liaise with engineering vendors and class societies for approvals. Techno-Commercial Offers & ROI - Prepare technical offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for internal and client-facing stakeholders. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination - Act as the single point of contact for owners, charters, yards, OEMs, and internal Njord teams to ensure smooth execution. Project Documentation & RACI - Develop and manage project RACI charts, technical specs, work orders, and commissioning plans. Yard Attendance - Travel to yards for critical retrofit phases, including installation, integration, commissioning, and paint applications. Hull/Paint Strategy & Execution - Lead Hull modification and paint selection discussions (e.g. silicone, advanced antifouling) and coordinate yard/OEM execution during dry dockings. As our new Technical Solutions Manager - Njord, we do, however, expect that you can contribute with the following: You are a Marine Engineer or Naval Architect with 6 8 years of experience, including 1 2 years in shore-based technical or yard roles. Additional experience should include the following: Minimum 2 major drydocking s/ repairs involving tankers or bulkers Retrofit Exposure EPL/ShaPloi/BWTS, Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, Hull paint Comfortable with design reviews, mechanical and electrical integration and class interactions Experience in ROI modelling, proposal creations, cost vs savings analysis Experience in MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, CFD exposure (Optional). Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
