About the Role: We are seeking a skilled projection mapping expert to contribute to the creation of captivating digital-physical experiences within real-world environments. Your primary focus will involve crafting live installations for upscale entertainment venues, merging real-time visuals, mapped projections, and interactive elements triggered by sensors. Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include designing and executing projection mapping installations on various surfaces such as walls, floors, objects, and customized structures. You will be tasked with calibrating and aligning multi-projector configurations utilizing tools like MadMapper, TouchDesigner, Resolume, or similar software. Additionally, integrating content derived from 3D models and motion graphics into mapped settings will be a key aspect of your role. Collaboration with designers, developers, and electronics specialists to develop synchronized experiences is essential. Moreover, you will oversee on-site setup, testing, and troubleshooting procedures during installations. Required Skills: The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in projection mapping. Proficiency in utilizing tools like MadMapper, TouchDesigner, Unity/Unreal Engine, or equivalent software is necessary. A strong grasp of projector alignment, edge blending, and warping techniques is crucial. Experience in 3D modeling using software such as Blender, Maya, or Cinema4D, along with expertise in UV mapping, is required. The ability to work autonomously under tight deadlines and varying conditions is essential. Bonus Skills (Nice to Have): Additional advantageous skills include familiarity with sensors such as Kinect, RealSense, or LiDAR for motion-triggered applications. Knowledge of AI tools like Stable Diffusion, RunwayML, or Kaiber would be beneficial. Proficiency in shader programming or generative art creation is a plus. Prior installation experience at museums, events, retail establishments, or Family Entertainment Centers (FECs) is also advantageous.
