Machine Shop Supervisor

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily machining operations such as CNC turning, milling, drilling, and tapping for aluminum die-cast components. Ensure timely completion of production schedules aligned with customer requirements and dispatch plans. Optimize machine utilization and effective manpower deployment across all shifts. Monitor and maintain the availability, condition, and performance of cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures. Ensure correct clamping methods, tool offsets, and machining parameters are consistently followed to achieve desired quality and precision. Collaborate with the tooling and maintenance departments to manage tool life, resolve tooling issues, and address machine breakdowns efficiently. Lead and manage a team of machine operators, setters, and technicians, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and workplace safety protocols. Preferred Candidate Profile Proficient in interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and engineering drawings. Practical experience with aluminum die-cast components, particularly in managing tight tolerances and post-machining complexities . Strong leadership qualities with a proven ability to coordinate teams and improve shop floor efficiency . Familiarity with IATF 16949 quality management systems and automotive industry standards. Worked with Makino and BFW and Brother machines previously.
