Machine Learning Engineer II - MLOPS

As a Machine Learning Engineer II - MLOPS at Expedia Group, your role involves working in a cross-functional team of Machine Learning engineers and Data scientists to design and code large scale batch and real-time data pipelines on the AWS. You will prototype creative solutions quickly by developing minimum viable products and collaborate with seniors and peers in implementing the technical vision of the team. Communication and effective work with geographically distributed cross functional teams will be essential, along with participating in code reviews to assess overall code quality and flexibility. You will also be responsible for resolving problems and roadblocks with peers, unblocking junior team members, defining and maintaining technical artifacts, driving continuous improvement in software and development process within an agile development team, participating in user story creation, and supporting and troubleshooting data and/or system issues as needed. Key Responsibilities: - Work in a cross-functional team to design and code large scale batch and real-time data pipelines on AWS - Prototype creative solutions and collaborate with seniors and peers - Communicate effectively with geographically distributed teams - Participate in code reviews and assess code quality - Resolve problems and roadblocks, unblock junior team members - Define, develop, and maintain technical artifacts - Drive continuous improvement in software and development process - Participate in user story creation - Support and troubleshoot data and/or system issues Qualifications required: - Degree in software engineering, computer science, informatics, or a similar field - Comfortable programming in Scala, or Java with hands-on experience in OOAD, design patterns, SQL, and NoSQL - Knowledgeable in Hadoop-ecosystem technologies, particularly Hadoop, Hive, and Spark - Passionate about learning, especially in microservices, design patterns, system architecture, Data Science, and Machine Learning - Experience using cloud services (e.g., AWS) - Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies - High-level understanding of Machine learning pipelines - Experience with Python - Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow - Experience in crafting real-time streaming applications, preferably in Spark, and Kafka/KStreams - Familiar with workflow management tools (e.g., Airflow) - Familiar with the e-commerce or travel industry Expedia Group is committed to creating a diverse, vibrant, and welcoming community that celebrates differences and fosters an open culture where everyone belongs.
