Securing the supply chain and necessary minerals A Snapshot of Your Day As a Development Engineer for Rotodynamic & Bearings (f/m/d), you will contribute your expertise to support product development initiatives. Your goal is to apply your knowledge within a diverse development team to achieve optimal results, enabling the safe and flexible operation of turbine sets in an increasingly volatile energy market. You will work within a cross-functional network across Siemens Energy's global locations and collaborate with external partners from academia and industry. You will be involved in the development of new products and technologies from the initial concept through to deployment in power plants. How You'll Make an Impact Improving the efficiency and flexibility of Siemens Energy steam turbine sets to adapt to new market conditions through optimization of machine dynamics and tribology using numerical simulation Contributing to the development of technically advanced rotodynamic systems up to series production while complying with applicable technical standards and norms Shaping Siemens Energy's future product portfolio through project work in energy transition technologies and transformation What You Bring Successfully completed master's degree in mechanical engineering, ideally with a PhD (with a focus on Machine Dynamics or Tribology) or a comparable field, combined with 8-12 years of professional experience Excellent knowledge of mechanics, machine dynamics, and numerical simulation methods Extensive expertise in rotor dynamics, including modeling, simulation, and analysis of turbine sets to ensure operational stability and performance Strong background in product development for power plant systems, from initial concept to deployment, with a focus on technical standards and innovation Solid understanding of large-scale power plants, particularly turbine sets Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus We've got quite a lot to offer.
