As an Electrical Design Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to review and validate electrical designs, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQs). You will ensure that all designs comply with local regulations and international standards. In this role, you will collaborate with consultants, clients, and other disciplines such as MEP and Civil engineering to deliver high-quality electrical designs. Additionally, you will be responsible for approving technical submittals, materials, and method statements. Your expertise will be crucial in providing technical support during procurement, installation, and testing phases of projects. You will also be expected to troubleshoot design issues and drive value engineering initiatives to optimize project outcomes. To excel in this role, you must possess a strong knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems, Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems, and grounding systems. Familiarity with local regulations such as DEWA, ADDC, or other relevant authorities is essential. Proficiency in technical tools such as AutoCAD, Dialux, and other electrical design software will be required. Your excellent coordination skills, meticulous documentation practices, and ability to provide technical leadership will be key to success in this position. This is a full-time position with benefits including health insurance, paid sick time, and a Provident Fund. As a Site Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of solar power systems at project sites in Liberia. Your role will involve supervising all solar PV electrical works on-site, reviewing and interpreting solar electrical drawings, overseeing the installation of LV/MV systems, coordinating with other teams for integrated project delivery, and conducting pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for solar systems. You will be expected to monitor subcontractor performance, ensure compliance with international standards and local regulations, maintain accurate records, troubleshoot technical issues, and propose practical solutions to maintain progress and quality. Additionally, you will implement HSE procedures during electrical installations and inspections. To qualify for this role, you should have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a Master's degree being a plus. You should have at least 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision, a strong knowledge of solar PV system components, familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing equipment, as well as the ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential, and you should be willing to be based on-site in Liberia.
