Role Overview: As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer at Cundall, you will join the dedicated Power Systems team in Chennai to work on the design of exciting projects locally and regionally. The team specializes in conducting power studies across various sectors, such as hyperscale data centers, Building Services, and large-scale construction projects. You will have the opportunity to work on medium voltage distribution systems, power plant systems analysis on HV, MV, and LV distribution, and contribute to projects ranging from plant upgrades to hyperscale projects exceeding 100MW. Key Responsibilities: - Produce engineering designs, calculations, and specifications using appropriate technical software. - Be conversant in power systems, including grid substations design, CT calculations, differential protection stability slopes, and rate of rise voltage calculations. - Utilize ETAP and PTW power systems software to model complex networks and run advanced power system studies. - Coordinate with other disciplines and specialisms as required. - Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients" briefs. - Supervise the production of technical drawings. - Attend and participate in client and project meetings. - Undertake site visits to monitor work progress and highlight issues to stakeholders. - Correspond with external third parties regarding technical queries. - Comply with project management, Operational (QA), Environmental, and Health and Safety procedures. - Manage your continuing professional development actively. Qualifications Required: - Degree in Electrical Engineering. - Experience in an Electrical Engineering role, preferably within a data center/critical systems context. - Strong coordination skills with other design disciplines. - Proficiency in electrical theory and relevant design software. - Ability to work with team resources and coordinate with junior engineers and BIM/CAD technicians. - Demonstrated ability in producing schematic diagrams, fault and discrimination studies, specifications, project reports, site inspections, surveys, and detail design development. - Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities. Liaising with Schneider offer team and customer's project teams, consultants and internal teams to understand the project requirement/scope/needs Ensure the solution compliance to the local standards, regulation, codes and safety requirements Coordinate with electrical and mechanical engineer to create all required document in terms of capacity calculations, design calculations, drawings, layouts, specifications, block schematics, solution value proposition, compliance table etc. Solution design should ensure the successful project implementation and customer satisfaction Provide engineering support to the team during installation in terms of process, tools required, procedures, regulatory compliance, Dos and Don'ts technical interpretations and support and ensure quality Project Execution Assist vendor qualification, provide first cut costing Participate in customer meetings to communicate the project status and any roadblocks Escalate any roadblocks to internal stakeholders. Provide regular reports on proposal status to Project Manager and Solution Manager Ensure the compliance to customer project processes, methodologies and procedures during the design phase Control schedule during the design phase to meet project master plan Customer care and quality Deliver services to achieve highest customer satisfaction during project execution Escalate any design issues to Project Manager and be responsible to ensure its closure Identify the improvements needed, document it and communicate to the respective owners and stake holder Partner Management Responsible for coordinate design finalization with third party service providers during project execution Monitor and communicate the performance of partners Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Electric Engineering or Mechanical Engineer) At least 5 years experience in the electrical or mechanical engineering industry, of which 2 year in designing complete systems for critical facilities such as data centers Good command of English Business understanding ounderstanding of electrical distribution system design ounderstanding of electrical system components such as HV, MV, LV distribution, swichgears, panel design standards, grounding , gernerator system, etc... ounderstanding of mechanical design (including cooling, piping, fire alarm ounderstanding on best practices and standards in electrical systems design, installation and operation requirement ounderstanding of engineering system documentation oproven skill in project engineering oability to meet deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills oexcellent business ethics and integrity odemonstrates a flexibility in operational style to meet the requirements or multi-cultural position
