The Department of Chemistry and the Centre of Excellence in Mass Spectrometry (CoEMS) are currently looking for a Senior Technical Specialist to take on the lead technician role within CoEMS. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing all key aspects of your specialist skills in mass spectrometry, as well as engaging in significant project collaborations and providing support to our academic group leaders in the Department of Chemistry. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing new strategies, leading mass spectrometry initiatives, and engaging in collaborative projects with technical, academic, and research partners. Adept at managing mass spectrometry equipment and providing scientific and technical guidance, the ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in the field. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement new strategies for mass spectrometry initiatives - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on projects and initiatives - Provide scientific and technical leadership in mass spectrometry - Manage and maintain mass spectrometry equipment and ancillary tools - Ensure effective utilization of space within CoEMS Requirements: - Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in mass spectrometry - Proficiency in operating and maintaining mass spectrometry equipment - Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail - Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams - Flexible approach to work and responsiveness to time-sensitive demands - Self-motivated, dependable, and reliable individual If you are interested in this exciting opportunity, we encourage you to apply by the specified deadline.
