Role & responsibilities Loading and Unloading : Forklift operators are responsible for safely loading goods onto trucks, trailers, or rail cars and unloading incoming shipments. This includes stacking items to maximize space and prevent damage during transit. 2 Transporting Materials : They drive forklifts throughout the facility to transport materials to different locations, ensuring timely delivery to the appropriate departments or workstations. 2 Optimizing Loads : Operators must strategically arrange and secure loads to maximize efficiency while adhering to safety protocols. 2 Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance : Regularly checking forklifts for any signs of damage or wear is crucial. Operators are also responsible for scheduling maintenance and necessary repairs to ensure the equipment remains in good working condition. 2 Inventory Management : Forklift operators often utilize RF scanning equipment to keep track of inventory levels, ensuring accuracy in stock records and assisting in inventory audits. 2 Safety Compliance : Adhering to safety management standards is critical. Operators must identify workplace hazards and follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
