As a member of the Retail Cloud POS Performance Engineering team at Salesforce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of blazing-fast and scalable commerce experiences across our platform. Your mission will involve partnering directly with engineering teams to embed performance considerations into every phase of the development lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include serving as the test engineer for the POS product, advising on best practices, and reviewing architecture and implementation for performance risks. You will collaborate with fellow engineers to design and implement meaningful performance tests, metrics, and dashboards that reflect real customer use cases. Additionally, you will develop automated performance benchmarks and reports to help track regressions and optimizations. To excel in this role, you should have prior experience in order management, retail store management, eCommerce platforms, or inventory systems. Experience with APM tools like New Relic, AppDynamics, or custom observability frameworks is preferred. Exposure to technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, and container-based infrastructure will be beneficial. You should bring to the table 7+ years of experience in performance engineering, backend development, or systems optimization. Deep expertise in Java/J2EE, microservices architecture, distributed systems, and cloud-native platforms is essential. A strong understanding of data persistence layers, performance engineering concepts, and proficiency in load generation and profiling tools are also required. As a proactive problem solver, you will drive the creation of bug reports, support resolution efforts, and lead technical deep dives across various system components to analyze performance metrics and system efficiency.
