Role Overview: Join Valeo as an Intellectual Property Engineer to be a part of a tech global company dedicated to designing innovative solutions for reinventing mobility. Key Responsibilities: - Intellectual Property Protection: - Selecting the most appropriate type of protection (Patent, Design, Copyright) and determining the best way to proceed - Defining the creation/inventions, preparing filings, and managing prosecutions - Participating in decisions regarding foreign filings - Defining product coverage strategy in collaboration with R&D/Projects - Managing the patent portfolio effectively - Preventing or Defending from Third Parties Actions: - Conducting project studies to identify competitor patents - Taking action to redirect projects in case of infringement risk - Conducting patent clearances and IP Rights validity studies, including risk assessment - Contributing to Oppositions / Nullity suits against patents granted to third parties - Studying and following up on infringement claims and litigations - Infringement Actions Against Third Parties: - Detecting infringement and verifying the validity of files - Initiating offensive pre-litigation or litigation actions in collaboration with IP, Division Managements, and other involved functions according to Group rules - Support to Other Functions: - Reviewing IP clauses in agreements and proposing modifications - Providing IP training for R&D/R&I teams Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Engineering, or related field - Experience in intellectual property law and patent portfolio management - Strong understanding of IP protection types and procedures - Ability to conduct patent clearances, validity studies, and infringement actions - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams Company Details: Valeo is a tech global company dedicated to designing innovative solutions to reinvent mobility and reduce environmental impact.
