As an Assistant Professor of English at CGC University, Mohali, you will be an integral part of the Humanities/English department, contributing to the academic excellence of our institution through your passion for teaching literature and language. Your strong academic background and dedication will play a key role in fostering critical thinking and creative expression among students. Your responsibilities will include teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in English Literature, Language, and Communication. You will design and deliver lectures, assignments, and examinations in alignment with curriculum guidelines. Additionally, you will supervise student research, projects, and dissertations, contributing to curriculum development and academic planning. Participation in departmental meetings, seminars, and workshops will be essential, along with engaging in scholarly research and publishing in reputed journals. Your role will also involve mentoring students, supporting their academic and career growth, and assisting in organizing academic and extracurricular activities while upholding academic integrity and institutional policies. To qualify for this position, you must hold a Master's degree in English/English Literature/Linguistics/Communication from a recognized university. A Ph.D. in English or being NET/SET qualified as per UGC norms is preferred. Teaching or research experience at the college/university level will be advantageous, along with strong communication and interpersonal skills and proficiency in using technology for teaching and academic work. Preferred skills for this role include subject expertise in areas such as British Literature, Indian Writing in English, Literary Criticism, Linguistics, or ELT. Your ability to integrate modern pedagogical methods and digital tools in teaching, along with a commitment to academic excellence and student engagement, will be highly valued in this position.
