Role & responsibilities Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Linux Reliability Engineer with extensive knowledge of Linux OS architecture. Strong experience with writing Puppet code, AWX, RHEL SUSE Oracle Linux is a requirement to be successful in this role. As part of the RUN team, the Senior Linux Reliability Engineer will serve as an escalation point for major incidents, providing Level 3 operations support including root cause analysis. They will also work collaboratively with application owners and other technical teams, coordinating and leading multiple cross-functional initiatives and projects that will have system-wide impact, integrating across the organization, and involving multiple environments. The successful candidate will help define metrics for monitors, optimize the performance of operating systems, and diagnose monitoring policy failures to ensure continuity of operations across the entire enterprise. The role involves identifying potential issues, opportunities for process improvements and automation proactively, implementing appropriate solutions to ensure optimal performance. The role also involves performing technology ingestion validation working closely with the build team and other stakeholders, writing up documentation to ensure seamless integration with operation teams Individuals will be expected to adhere to company standards and processes and have sufficient experience of ITSM processes such as change management, incident and request creation/tracking as well as experience with Agile delivery utilizing modern cloud-based software tools and approaches (Git, JIRA, Confluence). Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Collaborating with cross functional teams and stakeholders to understand business needs, identify requirements gaps or issues Maintain the health, reliability, and security of Linux operating systems Analyze system performance data and proactively identify potential issues Implement solutions to ensure optimal performance Define metrics for monitors and optimize operating system performance Diagnose and correct monitoring policy failures Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation Serve as an escalation point for major incidents within the RUN team and provide Level 3 operations support Coordinate and lead cross-functional initiatives and projects Ingest new technologies, write documentation, and perform ingestion validation duties Utilize scripting for system management and automation Ensure Operating Systems comply with organizations standards Experience & Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or technical institute degree/certificate in a relevant field or equivalent work experience Typically requires 8+ years of relevant IT work experience Relevant certification is required Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Ability Requirements Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues efficiently Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Presentation skills Ability to prioritize workloads Azure experience is desirable but not essential ITSM Puppet AWX Linux OS Architecture, RHEL, SUSE Preferred candidate profile
