This profile outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, and performance expectations for a Linux Administrator position within IT Operations, based in Pune. The role focuses on first-level Linux system support in a 24x7 environment, ensuring system uptime and managing incidents and requests within SLAs.

Role responsibilities: The Linux Administrator handles server incidents, service and change requests, performs OS patching, manages user accounts, troubleshoots Linux hardware and OS issues, and has knowledge of Ansible and containerization technologies.
Required competencies and experience: Candidates should understand Linux operating systems (RedHat, Oracle, Ubuntu), be familiar with command-line tools, shell scripting, system monitoring, and have the ability to work in shifts. Preferred qualifications include a diploma or bachelors degree, Linux+ or RHCSA certification, and 1–2 years of Linux support experience.
Performance indicators and role scope: Success is measured by incidents resolved at L1, ticket response and resolution times, documentation accuracy, system uptime, and SLA compliance. The role has low strategic impact, low operational accountability, and requires low expert knowledge but moderate influence within the organization.
