Lineman

Junior Lineman or Assistant Lineman:

• Installation and Erection: Erecting new poles and towers, and installing electrical overhead and underground distribution systems and related equipment like capacitor banks and distribution transformers.
• Maintenance and Repair: Conducting regular inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting to locate and repair faults using test equipment such as megohmmeters and test lamps. This includes replacing defective insulators, fuses, and wiring.
• Safety Compliance: Strictly adhering to electrical safety norms, guidelines, and accident prevention regulations, as the job involves working with both live and de-energized high-powered electrical lines.
• Equipment Operation: Operating and inspecting specialized equipment, including aerial devices, digger/derricks, bucket trucks, and excavation equipment.
• Technical Interpretation: Reading and interpreting technical documents, electrical diagrams, and schematics to plan work processes and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of installation data, maintenance work, and system status.
• Education: A minimum of 10th standard pass (SSLC) with an ITI certificate in the Electrician or Wireman trade, or an equivalent Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: Requires more than 1 year of experience in the electrical field.
