Line Engineer

Role & responsibilities

Production & Equipment Operation

• Operate, monitor, and maintain bottling, canning, filling, capping, labeling, and packaging machinery.
  
• Perform equipment setup, adjustments, calibration, and changeovers based on production requirements.
  
• Respond quickly to machine stoppages and production line faults to minimize downtime.
  
• Ensure smooth workflow along conveyors, fillers, cappers, labelers, and packers.
  

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Conduct routine preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment.
  
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  
• Support maintenance technicians during major repairs or overhauls.
  
• Maintain proper lubrication, alignment, and cleaning of machines.
  

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Conduct quality checks including fill level, torque, sealing, labeling, and packaging integrity.
  
• Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards strictly.
  
• Document all quality parameters and deviations accurately.
  
• Ensure compliance with company safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  

Line Efficiency & Reporting

• Monitor line performance and work towards reducing downtime and waste.
  
• Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment issues, and maintenance activities.
  
• Provide feedback for continuous improvement of processes.
  
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to achieve daily output targets.
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong mechanical and technical skills
  
• Ability to troubleshoot high-speed machinery
  
• Knowledge of beverage processing equipment (fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, etc.)
  
• Understanding of CIP/SIP, GMP, and HACCP
  
• Basic PLC fault-finding (added advantage)
  
• Good communication and teamwork
  
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
