Role Description We are seeking a Kannada Academic Specialist to develop, review, and proofread curriculum content in Kannada for Grades 1–5 (and beyond), aligned with NCERT and Karnataka State Board guidelines. This is a part-time, remote role that requires native-level proficiency in Kannada along with strong communication skills in English or Hindi to coordinate effectively with our core team. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Creation: Develop original, high-quality Kannada academic content (textbooks, activities, assessments) aligned with NEP 2020, NCF 2023, and state board standards. Translation & Adaptation: Accurately translate or adapt existing English/Hindi academic content into Kannada while preserving academic integrity and cultural relevance. Content Review: Proofread and fact-check content to ensure linguistic accuracy, pedagogical soundness, and compliance with academic frameworks. Subject Coverage: Work across subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and Languages (English/Hindi to Kannada adaptation). Collaboration: Coordinate with the Life Spokes content and design team in English/Hindi for project updates, revisions, and delivery timelines. Quality Control: Ensure all Kannada materials meet professional publishing standards for clarity, accuracy, and layout readiness. Qualifications & Skills Language Skills: Native-level fluency in Kannada (reading, writing, and comprehension) with strong communication skills in English and/or Hindi . Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education, Kannada Literature, Linguistics, or a related field. Curriculum Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in academic content writing, curriculum design, or educational publishing. Framework Knowledge: In-depth understanding of NEP 2020 & NCF 2023 guidelines. Research Ability: Strong research and analytical skills to create relevant and accurate content. Technical Skills: Basic familiarity with MS Word, Google Docs, and any DTP/pre-press tools (preferred but not mandatory). Work Style: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, and collaborate effectively in a remote setup.
