Job Description

As a Storyteller for Young Children, you will be responsible for creating and delivering age-appropriate, engaging, and interactive stories and narratives tailored to the developmental level and interests of young children, typically ranging from infants to preschoolers. Your role will involve ensuring that stories and narratives are suitable for the target age group, considering themes, language complexity, and emotional content. You will play a crucial part in promoting early literacy skills, including language development, vocabulary expansion, and a love for reading, through your engaging storytelling sessions. - Use creative and interactive storytelling techniques, such as gestures, props, voices, and facial expressions, to captivate the attention and imagination of young children. - Perform in early childhood education settings like preschools, daycare centers, libraries, and elementary schools to support the curriculum and enhance learning experiences. - Collaborate with early childhood educators, teachers, and parents to complement classroom activities and support the development of children's cognitive and social skills. - Modify storytelling techniques and content to address the diverse needs and learning styles of young children, including those with special needs or English as a second language. - Organize and participate in storytelling events, sessions, or programs that encourage children's participation and engagement. - Choose appropriate stories, books, or materials that align with educational objectives, cultural diversity, and the interests of young learners. - Incorporate visual aids, props, and illustrations to enhance storytelling and make it more engaging for early years" audiences. - Explore and celebrate cultural diversity through stories from different cultures and languages to promote understanding and inclusivity. - Encourage parental involvement by providing resources, suggestions, or workshops to help parents engage in storytelling and reading with their children at home. Qualifications: - Graduate in any stream. - A passion for storytelling and working with young children. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate content. - Creativity and the ability to adapt storytelling techniques for different age groups. - Experience in early childhood education or storytelling is a plus. - Familiarity with children's literature and a variety of storytelling techniques. - Patient and enthusiastic when working with children.,
