Job Description

Job Title:

Role Overview:

The Librarian will be responsible for managing the school library, ensuring students and teachers have access to appropriate learning resources, and fostering a love for reading and research.

Key Responsibilities:

Organize, manage, and maintain the school library in an efficient manner.
Develop and implement library policies, systems, and procedures.
Support teachers and students in locating and using learning resources.
Promote reading habits and encourage students to utilize library facilities.
Maintain records of books, periodicals, digital resources, and other materials.
Plan and conduct library-based activities such as book fairs, reading challenges, and author interactions.
Ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for readers.
Stay updated with latest educational resources and technology in library management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelors/Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) or equivalent.
Prior experience as a school librarian preferred.
Strong organizational and cataloguing skills.
Proficiency in library management software and digital tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for books, reading, and research.
