Librarian

Position Overview

The Librarian is responsible for managing the school library, promoting reading habits among students, supporting academic programs, and ensuring smooth functioning of library resources in alignment with the school’s educational objectives.

Key ResponsibilitiesLibrary Management

• Organize, catalog, classify, and maintain library books and digital resources.
• Maintain records of book issuance, returns, fines, and inventory.
• Ensure proper shelving and upkeep of library materials.
• Plan and manage annual library budgets and procurement.

Academic Support

• Support teachers and students with reference materials and research assistance.
• Align library resources with CBSE/ICSE curriculum requirements.
• Assist students in developing research, reading, and information-literacy skills.

Student Engagement

• Promote reading culture through book clubs, reading sessions, library periods, and competitions.
• Conduct library orientation programs for new students.
• Recommend age-appropriate reading materials.

Digital & Resource Management

• Manage e-resources, library software, and digital databases.
• Maintain library management systems and reports.
• Ensure safe and responsible use of library and internet resources.

Administrative Duties

• Prepare reports related to library usage and inventory.
• Coordinate with vendors and publishers.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and academic standards.

Discipline & Safety

• Maintain discipline and silence in the library.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all users.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib).
• Experience in a school library preferred.
• Knowledge of library management software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Passion for books, learning, and student developmen

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹12,486.53 - ₹20,000.00 per month
